Hmm... funny, I don't remember if they came back this day for the data migration...

Data migration
Topic: i-Solv Project
Data migration still on-going. Alemon's turn today, after Maricel and the other guy worked on it yesterday.

Data Migration
Topic: i-Solv Project
Data Migration started. i-Solv people arrived at office.

We spent the whole day migrating data, using Rico's PC's.

They spent the night at their other client's staff house.

BCMS
Topic: i-Solv Project
They delivered another executable today, and I decided that we should already start with the data migration.

We still have a long way to go...

Installation
Topic: i-Solv Project
Finally, i-Solv delivered the "final product" which, while working, was not yet perfect for our usage, what with the bugs of the previous prototype still present because my emailed list of bugs didn't reach the main coder. :-(

I told them to fix those minor yet debilitating bugs before we pay them the next installment.

Spent 5.5 hours on this, with the programming teams of both companies.

Bugs
Topic: i-Solv Project
I asked Rico to email me his findings last week, re: the Feb. 16 prototype.

He didn't email me. What he did was to make me experience and see the problems for myself. He made me do the note-taking. He never submitted anything to me, not even handwritten notes. I wonder why?

So I did the dirty work and emailed Maricel and Sir Jing. Maricel told me via IM that they *WILL* deliver because they're afraid of getting penalized. I just hope the bugs won't be too much annoying and won't affect the performance of their software.

i-Solv update
Topic: i-Solv Project
Our meeting last Jan. 31, 2005 would be the last before they deploy their first "real" SFE-based prototype on Saturday, Feb. 12.

This is because I've asked them to prioritize the consumer management module so we can test the migration of the customer master file before we proceed to the parallel run.

Case Sensitivity
Mood:  not sure
Topic: i-Solv Project
Finally, I found out what was causing the "hanging" of the prototype .EXE when accessing the database from the Linux server.

It was indeed a case sensitivity problem. I renamed the citytown_lup table to CityTown_lup and voila! The Consumer Management form loaded up, finally. So I asked Ms. Maricel to carefully check the table names and convert them to lowercase in the source codes to avoid this annoying problem in the future.

I also found out what's causing the Runtime error 429, it's a design-time vs. runtime license issue on the COMDLG32.OCX (.DLL?) file. I told them to do the workaround that was posted on the website I found via google.

Jan. 11 Meeting
Topic: i-Solv Project
Sir Alex, Sir Jing, and Ms. Maricel came to our office and we held the meeting at the Board Room from 2pm to around 7pm.

We discussed the computation of bills, spending a lot of time on how to compute for SM bills.

They jokingly suggested that we blow up the mall so it won't complicate their programming tasks.

They will come back on Monday.
