Jan. 10 Meeting
Mood:  a-ok
Topic: i-Solv Project
Sir Alex, Sir Jing, and Ms. Maricel came to our office and we held the meeting at the Board Room from 11am to around 6pm.

We "reviewed" the previously-discussed Billing Cycle and they asked about the fields in Pie's tables to help in their GAP ANALYSIS.

2 new Books
Topic: i-Solv Project
Yey! I bought two (2) new books on December 30, 2004.

One is a low-price edition (hence, no CD) of Dietel & Dietel's "VISUAL BASIC 6: How to program" (Php 525.00) and the other is Sybex's "Mastering Database Programming with Visual Basic 6" (Php 1,195.00).

I'm relieved to discover that I can easily learn these because of my background in BASICA and Clipper/Foxbase.

I've skimmed most of the SAMS book's first 3 chapters. I'm very excited to arrive on Chapter 17 for the two (2) complete applications! :-)

Bugs
Topic: i-Solv Project
Been evaluating the first installment of i-Solv BCMS since Dec. 15, 2004.

Bugs:

1. BillingCollection
Run-time error Table 'sfelapco.feeder_Lup' doesn't exist. (should be lup, not Lup)

2. When CONSUMER Management is entered, NOTHING HAPPENS. (Linux MySQL-max server), but seems to work fine using Rico's MySQL server. EVEN with an *EMPTY* table! Same version: MySQL 4.0.21-max.

3. When adding consumers, "Run-time error '380': Invalid property value" occurs. (NEW exe only?)

4. Even when I use the 2.5 version of myodbc, no restore occurs on ibm using both NEW and OLD exe.

5. 4:44pm, 12/17/2004. tried OLD exe with myodbc 3.51.10 on SAMBOY, accessing RICO:

Restore: no data RESTORED. :-(

4:46pm, 12/17/2004. tried OLD exe with myodbc 2.5 on SAMBOY, accessing RICO:

Restore: still no DICE. :-(

6. 4:48pm, 12/17/2004. Rico tried OLD exe with myodbc 3.51.10 on RICO, accessing RICO, seems to wrok on LOCALHOST only.

7. installed mysql 4.0.21 on SAMBOY, OLD exe restored fine, using localhost

8. Saturday, 12/18/2004. 9:30am. Manually IMPORTED data using MySQL Query Browser. Tried to do ALL files at once, but it won't let me. It said the syntax was not valid/supported. Same with mysql-front. So I did it line by line (file by file) and it worked.

9. But Consumer Management using the LINUX server still won't work. I'm guessing this is *ONLY* a CASE problem (uppercase, lowercase), just like some of the errors I'm getting, but that's a little far-fetched.

Nov. 23, ~2pm:

Sir Alex is in the hospital. No details on what his sickness/injury is. He told me we will meet next week, but he might send some personnel here this week.

He told me he would inform me if and when those personnel will come.

Table structures
Topic: i-Solv Project
Provided i-Solv our table structures and some sample data on a CD (almost full -- that's *some* sample data, huh?).

I also mentioned that some fields are (or might prove to be) too small.

Then Pie discussed SM's special case with Maricel.

Despite my fever last night (11/3/2004), I couldn't help but examine the ERD given by i-Solv, and upon comparing it with the data_dictionary.xls printout, I found out a LOT of discrepancies.

I texted Mr. Alex Garcia about it, and he "explained" to me the functions of the two files, like I didn't know. ;-)

I clarified to him later what I found by texting him via CHIKKA but my message was blocked coz he didn't answer my 3 msgs. :-(

I told him:

Paano, sir, iyung sinasabi kong discrepancies? Baka pwede ninyo akong padalhan ng corrected version(s) ng ERD.JPG & data_dictionary.xls? example, consumer_meter_info. datadic.xls has no minimum_energy_kwh,coreloss,with_contract,etc...
