Meter Lab PC
Topic: work
Jorge told me on Wednesday afternoon that their Meter Lab PC just died while Ferdie was using it. So I asked him to bring it over so I can clean it out, just in case it was only dirty like Dinah's and Nette's PC.

After spending around half an hour cleaning it and testing, I concluded that the PSU is dead. So I emailed Dinah immediately.

Bugs
Topic: i-Solv Project
I asked Rico to email me his findings last week, re: the Feb. 16 prototype.

He didn't email me. What he did was to make me experience and see the problems for myself. He made me do the note-taking. He never submitted anything to me, not even handwritten notes. I wonder why?

So I did the dirty work and emailed Maricel and Sir Jing. Maricel told me via IM that they *WILL* deliver because they're afraid of getting penalized. I just hope the bugs won't be too much annoying and won't affect the performance of their software.

AGD's PC
Topic: work
AGD complained that he was having difficulty with the small fonts of his new PC, and asked me to adjust them.

He also kidded me about my Requisition Order for my notebook PC, saying "Para kanino 'to? Na-approve na ba 'to?" Well, at least I think he was only pulling my leg.

Dinah's PC
Topic: work
Around 8am, Dinah complained that subject PC won't boot. So I cleaned it and solved the problem. Spent a little over an hour on it.

AGD's PC
Topic: work
AGD complained about having to press Ctrl-Alt-Del before logging in, and he asked me to remove it, so I did, even after I told him it's for added security.

He also told me that if he doesn't complain by the end of the week, I may reformat his old PC's HD.

New notebook PC
Topic: work
Finally decided on my office notebook PC, after more than a month of research and confusion.

Initially liked Toshiba, but it comes ONLY with XP Home. Another P8,700.00 for XP Pro is too much.

I was ready to settle for XP Home, but then heard nightmares about Toshiba's, especially those that came with Toshiba-brand HD's, so I searched for other alternatives.

Unfortunately, Fujitsu models I liked cost too much. The Lifebook S7011 was quoted at P112,000+, so I decided to go for the upgraded ThinkPad R50e.

I hope I can install linux on it without too much hassle.

AGD's New PC
Topic: work
Finally! This task is done. All I have to do now is to wait for any complaints from AGD. ;-)

He told Dinah he didn't want to adjust to a new O.S. but new boards nowadays don't support the older O.S. version anymore, so...

I switched his new PC with the old one at around 1:30pm. Had to clean the table first.

Now I'll have to clean the old PC so it's presentable to the new "owner." Have to reformat it, too, but that'll have to wait until AGD says he's satisfied with his new setup.

Atty. Mac's missing cartridge
Topic: work
2+ days have passed, and still there's no sign of the missing BCI-21 cartridge. :-(

Will ask Liza to call him and remind him again for me.

Magdalena S/S PC
Topic: work
Subject PC wouldn't boot. Eng'r. Lapuz brought it back to the main office and I quickly cleaned out the accumulated dust. I think I harvested 10 kgs. of Sweet Potatoes!

It turned out that the PSU was busted. At least one (1) component, probably a capacitor, leaked out and the circuit board got wet. This was surely caused by overheating as the PSU Fan isn't spinning. I couldn't even turn it with my hands!

Good thing the Busted RadioRoom PC's PSU is still working, so I installed that as a replacement.

I also replaced the CPU Fan with the other Black Mapping PC's CPU Fan.

I spent around 4 hours on this PC (past 9am to past 1pm).
