Sir Jing Agito came and interviewed the tellers on their tasks. Assisted him for about an hour or so.

Data Migration
Topic: i-Solv Project After several futile tries on our workstations, I finally copied the backup files to the server so I could locally restore them using the LOAD DATA INFILE command. I created the script file in the morning, tested it, and let it run after office hours.

Data migration
Topic: i-Solv Project Since the server-to-server transfer failed last night, we tried to restore it using the bcms.exe provided. It was restoring TOO FAST. It looks like the data really needs to be restored locally on the server. :-( So I left my notebook running the server-to-server transfer again in the evening, but it still would choke on the large tables. Rico's PC itself would run out of memory when we tried it yesterday.

BCMS
Topic: i-Solv Project Maricel and Rico tried to test the .exe, and they ran into trouble when they tried to compute a bill. Mr. De Leon sympathized with i-Solv's woes and decided to give them half of the second installment. The other half will be paid to them when he's "impressed" with the delivered executable.

Data Migration
Topic: i-Solv Project Finally, they arrived! They managed to migrate the data onto Rico's PC. In the afternoon, I left my workstation working on a server-to-server transfer of the data. Then my PC did its reboot-itself-when-you-least-expect-it-trick again, around 10 minutes (my estimate) after I left it. I monitored the process from home, at around 9pm. The transfer stopped on the first big table. :-(

Data Migration
Topic: i-Solv Project They told me they'd try to finish migration in the morning, and that they'd be arriving in the afternoon. Then in the afternoon they told me that they couldn't finish, so they'll try to come tomorrow instead. Nope, you're not seeing doubles. This really happened two days in a row.

Soc's Printer
Topic: work Salvaged a slightly abrased ribbon cable from a retired FX-1170, in preparation for the retirement of Soc's ribbon cable. Spent about 30 minutes in the hot and humid warehouse. Left the location with lots of SWEAT! (not sure of this date, it's been around 3 weeks already)

Data migration
Topic: i-Solv Project Anna and Alemon came to work. I assisted them and they've agreed to rent the 3-storey house in front of our office on a daily (transient) basis. Then Sir Jing requested that they do the migration in Manila so that they'll have MORE people on the job. Sympathizing with their woes, I relented.
