New Billing software
Topic: work
Mr. Agito of i-Solv presented to us their Billing & Collection modules (with free meter reading module), from 10am to 12:15pm.

I think it's better than going with EBS 2000.

Stockholders List
Mood:  irritated
Topic: work
The company Bookkeeper asked me to reflect some changes to the list and print out a master list for Aug 2004.

It took me about half an hour, and I proceeded to print it out.

While it was printing, I burned the backups (2 sets of 2 discs).

When the hard copy came out, only the first two (2) pages were readable (!). My printer is having tantrums again! :-(

I had to wait until the backups were finished, and when I printed out the last six (6) pages of the list, pages 5, 7 & 8 were again garbled! :-(

Fortunately, they came out fine in the third run.

Reports
Topic: work
Since the GM's Exec. Sec. told me that Ms. Chona told her she has already finished the Labor Cost and Revenue&Collection reports for Sept. 2004, I tried to do my part but found out that Ms. Chona's Labor Cost was still incomplete (no contractual figures yet), so I just did the RevCol workbook but did not print it yet.

I didn't print out the Board meeting reports yet.

Mozilla Firefox
Topic: work
I'm planning on installing Firefox on all our computers who have internet access, for security.

I've already installed it on my PC, Mike's, Rocky's.

Atty. Macalino's PC
Topic: work
Atty. Macalino approached me while I was busy fixing Dongg's problem, so naturally I proceeded to his workstation upon leaving TSG (Dongg's workstation).

Atty. M. told me his PC turned itself off while he was printing something.

I opened up the case and observed that the motherboard LED is off, so I changed the power supply.

Problem fixed in about 23 minutes.

The thing is, while we were at the TSG, he remarked that I issued him the slowest PC that's why he's been having problems ("ita kasnig mainang diling klasing computer ing binie mu kanaku, ne?").

I felt insulted and told him he shouldn't imitate my detractors who are spoiled by the higher ups and always demand attention like they were the most important people in the world, that he should remember who my father is and what kind of person my father is, which meant that I was a good person myself.

Oh well, as long as I do my job, which incidentally involves ALL computers in the company and not just the TSG's PC's like the people there seem to think...

Dongg's shortcuts
Now Playing: Cool Night
Topic: work
Dongg told me he couldn't use the AM/FM Viewer when he logs in as dongg. When logged on as user "mapping" he can access it. He said Rico already tried to fix it while logged in as Administrator (thru Roland David), to no avail.

Upon creation of a universal desktop shortcut, I realized that the problem was the security settings (access permissions) of the shortcut.

I fixed the other required shortcuts the same way.

I asked Dongg to change his password on the mapping server so he won't be asked for it when attempting to map a network driver while logged into the Samba server.

Spent 35 minutes on this.
