Mapping1 PC
Topic: work
Dongg asked me if I've already given them access to the FB directory. I told him I already did, and asked him to browse the network. He said he succeeded on Alvin's computer but not on his PC.

So I went to TSG again and found out that the person who installed SynerGEE changed the IP address and Computer name of the PC!

Had to correct the situation.

Spent around 40 minutes on this problem.

Access to FB
Topic: work
Alvin approached me in the morning to ask for access to the Floridablanca data.

Took me around 20-30 minutes to give access to Alvin and Dongg, plus modify their login scripts to map drive U: to the FB data directory.

Pie password
Topic: work
Pie's password expired on the mapping server.

Took about 10-15 minutes investigating, logging in, correcting her account settings on the server.

Done.

Rocky complained of the missing autoexec.nt file again.

Spent more than four hours installing SP2 (twice, had to try uninstalling to get rid of the DISAPPEARING autoexec.nt problem.

Found several (84) spyware. I didn't realize immediately that SpyBot wasn't installed on this PC!

Anyway, in the end, I found the last (hopefully) spyware, which was SyncroAd/WinSync and removed it manually in safe mode.

Problem solved. Finally. I hope. :-)

Rocky's PC
Topic: work
Rocky told me he couldn't open DOS windows.

It turned out that his autoexec.nt was deleted. I suspected a virus, so I went to housecall and while it was installing along with java, I proceeded to the office fax machine and sent twenty pages (total) to 3 recipients within about 45 minutes (the numbers were all busy).

Housecall found 28 viruses, cleaned an .XLS file, and deleted all the others.

Finished all these in about 1 1/2 hours.

My Workstation
Topic: work
I'll be requesting for a replacement office chair. I discovered 2 days ago that my current chair's back support mounting has cracked open. No wonder my back keeps on aching! :-(

Here's the angle of its back support. See how it leans away from the back of the sitting person?

Here's the mounting of the back support. Notice how big the crack is?
