AGD's New PC
Topic: work
I was poised to install the new PC today, but unfortunately, something came up and I couldn't start before 1:30pm (had to fix Magdalena S/S PC), and AGD arrived soon after that, so my task was aborted as he told me he had some very important things to do.

Magdalena S/S PC
Topic: work
Subject PC wouldn't boot. Eng'r. Lapuz brought it back to the main office and I quickly cleaned out the accumulated dust. I think I harvested 10 kgs. of Sweet Potatoes!

It turned out that the PSU was busted. At least one (1) component, probably a capacitor, leaked out and the circuit board got wet. This was surely caused by overheating as the PSU Fan isn't spinning. I couldn't even turn it with my hands!

Good thing the Busted RadioRoom PC's PSU is still working, so I installed that as a replacement.

I also replaced the CPU Fan with the other Black Mapping PC's CPU Fan.

I spent around 4 hours on this PC (past 9am to past 1pm).

DongG's PC suddenly wouldn't run VIEWER properly. Something has been corrupted, because it's the only Viewer-capable PC that gets this "Run-time error '5000': Valid object expected as argument", a google search for which doesn't return anything. :-(

I asked Rico to do the reinstall after I failed several tries, to no avail.

He suggested what I feared: reinstall the O.S. I gave the go signal and now they're still at it.

I had to relinquish the task to Rico because the Magdalena S/S PC had trouble booting and Eng'r. Lapuz wanted me to fix it by around 1pm.

When I asked Rey C. to bring to the Billing Section the newly delivered UPS units, I noticed that they were lighter.

I discovered that they're now smaller, even the batteries shrunk. :-(

No wonder their price whent down. :-(

AGD's Printer
Topic: work
BJC-2000SP black output was inconsistent, so AGD washed the cartridge under the faucet (!!!).

I tried to revive it, but it would print fine only on the first half of the Test Print.

Borrowed Atty. Mac's BC-20 (pure Black) and it worked fine (See "side story" about Atty. Mac's cartridge). None of the other "OLD" cartridges would work, so I asked Mrs. Lopez to throw them away.

Decided to replace BCI-21 cartridge with pure black BC-20.

Found out how to import/export OE Mail/Contacts.

I asked AGD when I can do the switch. He told me to do it on Wednesday while he's in the board meeting in Manila.

Atty. Mac's Printer
Topic: work
While troubleshooting AGD's printer problems, I tried to borrow Atty. Mac's BCI-21 cartridge, which was a replacement unit from last week. To my surprise, I discovered that the ink installed is now a BC-20 pure black unit! :-(

Mrs. Lopez told me that Atty. Mac asked for a new cartridge because someone allegedly used up the ink on the now missing cartridge. "NIPNAP DE!" was what he uttered, according to Mrs. Lopez.

So I asked him to return to me the BCI-21 cartridge, and he told me he'd find it first, then give it to me, but he never did give it to me.

Replaced ink cartridge with the one from Liza's busted BJC-2000SP.

Spent about an hour troubleshooting it.
