Pie's password expired on the mapping server.
Took about 10-15 minutes investigating, logging in, correcting her account settings on the server.
Done.

Rocky's PC
Now Playing: You and I (will travel far together...) Shirley Bassey? midi Topic: work Rocky complained of the missing autoexec.nt file again. Spent more than four hours installing SP2 (twice, had to try uninstalling to get rid of the DISAPPEARING autoexec.nt problem. Found several (84) spyware. I didn't realize immediately that SpyBot wasn't installed on this PC! Anyway, in the end, I found the last (hopefully) spyware, which was SyncroAd/WinSync and removed it manually in safe mode. Problem solved. Finally. I hope. :-)

Rocky's PC
Topic: work Rocky told me he couldn't open DOS windows. It turned out that his autoexec.nt was deleted. I suspected a virus, so I went to housecall and while it was installing along with java, I proceeded to the office fax machine and sent twenty pages (total) to 3 recipients within about 45 minutes (the numbers were all busy). Housecall found 28 viruses, cleaned an .XLS file, and deleted all the others. Finished all these in about 1 1/2 hours.

Liza's PC
Topic: work Her PC would not boot, it displayed this: "Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: \windows\System32\Drivers\Isapnp.sys" MS website says the file is really damaged, but I wonder how it was damaged. :-( Then while troubleshooting the PC myself, the "damaged" file changed to "pci.sys" Good thing I know for a fact that RAM errors can cause such errors (and corresponding error msgs to appear). After a few restarts, the one error message that XP (and MS) is aware of that is caused by faulty RAM appeared. After > 1 hour of "remote" and actual troubleshooting, I concluded that one of the the two (2) DDR modules is damaged. So I removed it and the PC booted up. Mission accomplished.
